About moving instance volumes between LUNs

You can move an individual instance volume to a different LUN to relieve contention on a shared LUN or give a growing volume room of its own.

You can see which instance volumes are currently on each LUN and how much of each LUN is allocated.

You can move one volume at a time. The owning instance can stay online or offline during the move, though the move completes faster if the instance is running. A move is long-running and can take from hours to days depending on the volume size and the appliance workload. You can track progress or cancel a move from the Activity Monitor.

If you cancel a move, the volume remains on its original LUN. You can then start the move again.
