Unlocking a LUN
Unlock a LUN to make its capacity available to Flex Appliance again. You can unlock a LUN when you are ready to deploy the workload that you reserved it for, when you want to move a volume onto it, or when you need its capacity for an instance that you are creating or resizing.
To unlock a LUN
- Sign in to the Flex Appliance Console and click Storage in the left navigation.
- Select the Storage allocation tab.
- Select the check box for each LUN that you want to unlock. The lock state icon next to the LUN name shows which LUNs are locked. Select only locked LUNs, because Unlock is available only for a locked LUN.
- Click Unlock.
- Review the confirmation message, which lists the LUNs that you selected, and then confirm the operation.
The LUNs are unlocked immediately. Their available capacity is included again when you create or resize an instance, and they are offered as a target for a volume move.
Note:
If multiperson authorization (MPA) is configured for the operation, a request is created instead of the lock being released. A message confirms the request ID, and the LUNs stay locked until the request is approved. You can track the request on the Request management page, and cancel it if you no longer want the change.
