Locking a LUN
Use the following procedure to lock one or more LUNs so that Flex Appliance does not place new instance storage on them. Review the considerations before you begin.
See About locking LUNs.
To lock a LUN
- Sign in to the Flex Appliance Console and click Storage in the left navigation.
- Select the Storage allocation tab.
- Select the check box for each LUN that you want to lock. The lock state icon next to the LUN name shows whether a LUN is already locked. Select only unlocked LUNs, because Lock is available only for an unlocked LUN.
- Click Lock.
- Review the confirmation message, which lists the LUNs that you selected, and then confirm the operation.
The LUNs are locked immediately. Their capacity no longer appears as available when you create or resize an instance, and they are no longer offered as a target for a volume move.
Note:
If multiperson authorization (MPA) is configured for the operation, a request is created instead of the lock being applied. A message confirms the request ID, and the LUNs stay unlocked until the request is approved. You can track the request on the Request management page, and cancel it if you no longer want the change.
