Upgrading API key users to NetBackup 8.3
Any existing API keys are preserved in the upgrade NetBackup 8.3. You do not need to regenerate your API keys. However, you must reassign the principals for those API keys to a role that has the necessary permissions for the operations that are used with those keys.
To upgrade API key users for NetBackup 8.3
- Open the NetBackup web UI and sign in as with the Administrator role.
- On the left, select Security > API keys.
- Note the User name for each API key.
- On the left, select Security > RBAC.
- Select one of the following options.
Add the user to the Administrator role.
Click on Administrators role and then on Users tab.
Enter one of the user names from step 3 and click Add to list.
Enter any additional users that you want to have this role.
Create a new role or roles with necessary access.
Click Add and enter the details for the new role.
Determine the permissions that the users need to use with their API keys.

Enter one of the user names from step 3 and click Add to list.
Enter any additional users that you want to have this role.
After the role is created, add any other roles that are needed for other API key users.
- Terminate all active sessions for these users.
