Supported malware tools
Note:
Ensure that scan jobs are cancelled before upgrading any malware scanner tool or restarting the master server.
NetBackup provides support for the following malware detection tools:
NetBackup Malware Scanner (Avira)

Note:
The malware signature gets updated before every scan. If scan host does not have access to internet, then user must first configure the mirror server or a proxy server. For more information, refer to the following section:
Symantec Protection Engine
Microsoft Defender Antivirus
Trend Micro Malware Scanner

Note:
NetBackup 11.0 and later now provides support for malware scanning using the Trend Micro Malware Scanner only for Linux.
NetBackup NextGen Malware Scanner
Note:
When using any other malware scanner tool on Windows scan host, user must disable the option of the Windows Defender while malware scan is in progress.
