NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 8702

Message: The host cannot be created because the host name already exists in the host database.

Explanation: This error occurs due to one of the following reasons:

  • The host name that you are trying to create already exists in the host database.

  • The host ID that you are trying to create already exists in the host database.

Recommended Action: To resolve issues that are related to different hosts having the same name or alias, verify the network host name mapping.
