NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 8703

Message: The host cannot be created because the host ID-to-host name mapping already exists in the host database.

Explanation: The host name conflicts with an alias name that already exists in the database in a case insensitive comparison. You can find the host ID of the existing host or alias in the Location field of the response header.

Recommended Action: To resolve issues that are related to different hosts having the same name or alias, verify the network host name mapping.
