NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 8701

Message: The host does not exist.

Explanation: This error occurs when the host that you want to fetch does not exist. This may happen due to one of the following reasons:

  • The host name that you are trying to fetch does not exist.

  • The host ID that you are trying to fetch does not exist.

Recommended Action: The host that you are trying to access may not be a known NetBackup host. Starting with NetBackup 8.0, a host is added automatically when it communicates with a NetBackup 8.0 master server.
