Viewing appliance LUN I/O
On first load, all available LUNs are selected automatically. A note at the top explains this. You can change the selection in the LUNs to compare dropdown.
Toolbar controls:
- Select which LUNs to include in the charts; includes Select all and Unselect all; there is no limit on how many LUNs can be selected.
- Select how far back to look.
You can choose from:
Last 24 hours (default)
Last 1 hour
6 hours
12 hours
72 hours
7 days
30days
- Select which metric types to display. All four are selected by default - Throughput, IOPS, Latency, and Queue depth.
- The options are:
Separate charts for read and write (default)
Read and write trends on the same chart
- Shows when the data was last loaded.
- Reloads the charts for the current time frame.
- Exports the visible chart data to a CSV file.
Metrics and charts:
Throughput - It is measured in MB/s. In separate mode, it shows Read throughput and Write throughput charts. In combined mode, one Throughput chart shows Read and Write lines for each LUN.
IOPS - In separate mode, it shows Read IOPS and Write IOPS charts. In combined mode, it shows one IOPS chart with Read and Write lines per LUN.
Latency - In separate mode, it shows Read latency (ms) and Write latency (ms) charts. In combined mode, it shows one Latency chart with Read and Write lines per LUN.
Queue depth - It shows one chart only which is not split into read and write. It reflects weighted disk I/O time. Higher values often indicate heavier disk load.
When all four metrics are selected and separate read/write charts are chosen, up to seven charts can appear. Each chart includes an info tooltip and a Copy query link for the underlying monitoring query.
