Appliance LUN I/O
This mode shows platform-level LUN I/O.
For each LUN, Flex Appliance collects I/O statistics and presents them as a single LUN-level view. You can monitor read and write IOPS, throughput, latency, and queue depth on the I tab or through the metrics API.
The following raw counters are collected per LUN and exposed through the metrics API:
Table:
Metric name | Description |
|---|---|
flex_disk_reads_completed_total | Total reads completed successfully |
flex_disk_read_bytes_total | Total bytes read successfully |
flex_disk_read_time_seconds_total | Total seconds spent servicing all reads |
flex_disk_writes_completed_total | Total writes completed successfully |
flex_disk_written_bytes_total | Total bytes written successfully |
flex_disk_write_time_seconds_total | Total seconds spent servicing all writes |
flex_disk_io_time_weighted_seconds_total | Weighted seconds spent doing I/O (used to derive queue depth) |
From these counters, Flex Appliance derives the following per-LUN values, which are displayed on the tab.
Read IOPS and Write IOPS
Read throughput and Write throughput (MB/s)
Read latency and Write latency (ms)
Queue depth
In a multi-node cluster, the I/O performance charts combine LUN activity from all nodes automatically.
Latency shows the average time for read and write operations to complete over the period you selected.
