About multi Service Level Objective (multi-SLO) in Resiliency Platform
From Veritas Resiliency Platform 4.0, workloads can be configured for protection using a service objective that allows recovery with different types of recovery points. This is achieved by configuring protection for the workloads with more than one data mover technologies. In 4.0, Resiliency Platform supports configuring protection for VMware workloads using Resiliency Platform Data Mover (with and without CDP support) and using NetBackup AIR as data mover technologies at the same time. The recovery of such virtual machine can be orchestrated on the target data center using either backup images in case of data consistency or integrity issues or using the replicated data with a lower RPO in case of unplanned downtime due to infrastructure failure or planned maintenance.
In version 4.0, a new service objective template named Multi-RPO recovery of hosts is introduced which supports multiple RPO levels. This service objective is only applicable for host asset types.
Refer See About service objectives. for more details.
To configure protection using the new service objective for different RPO levels for the workloads, ensure the following prerequisites:
Ensure that the workloads are backed up using NetBackup along with snapshot - based backups.
NetBackup AIR is configured to replicate backup images between local and remote data center.
Ensure that while resiliency group is created, no automated or manual backup should be performed via NetBackup. The snapshots of virtual machine disks can interfere with the replication configuration during resiliency group creation.
