Support for NetBackup Classic AIR configurations
Resiliency Platform version 3.5 supports Classic AIR configuration which involve replication configured in NetBackup Storage Servers instead of Primary server. Since replication information is managed by Storage Servers themselves, which may even be 3rd party devices, Resiliency Platform cannot discover the replication configuration from the Primary server. Hence you need to provide the replication information to Resiliency Platform before creating resiliency groups for such virtual machines.
To provide the replication information, you need to pair the NetBackup primary server across the data centers. To do this, navigate toInfrastructure Pairing > Copy Primary Pair. This page lists the primary pairs that you have defined earlier.
To define a new NetBackup Primary Pair, click on + NetBackup Primary Pair button. The popped up wizard allows you to select primary servers from each data center which have Classic AIR replication configured between them and pair them.
Now you can proceed with resiliency group creation for virtual machines whose backup images are replicated using Classic AIR between these Primary servers. Once a resiliency group is created for virtual machines whose backups are replicated using Classic AIR, the resiliency group is linked to the primary pair that you have defined using the above method. You will not be able to delete the pair if some resiliency group is linked to it.
