Moving the replication host to another IMS
You can move the replication host to another Infrastructure Management Server (IMS) if you are unable to use the existing IMS.
Before proceeding with the move operation, ensure that the replication host is functioning and reachable from the new IMS.
For Windows hosts, the RPC dynamic port range 49152-65535 should be configured in security group / firewall rules.
To move the replication host to another IMS
- Navigate to Settings (menu bar) > Infrastructure > Details View
You can also access this page from the Quick Actions menu.
- Click Data Mover.
- In the Resiliency Platform Data Mover tab, click Move Hosts.
- In the Select Hosts panel, select credentials type (as per the following table) and the hosts which you want to move to another IMS.

Host credentials
Use this option when you have access to the user credentials for the host.
Pre-configured target Infrastructure Management Server credentials
Before you select this option, download VRP host agent package from target IMS and use the bundled configuration script to manually configure the host for management from target IMS.
- In the Provide Inputs panel, select the IMS and host credentials, if required. You can choose to apply the selection to all the hosts.
- Verify the selection before submitting the wizard. Click Submit.
- Use Recent Activities (bottom pane) > Details to verify that the operation is successfully completed. In case the operation fails for some hosts, you need to rerun the operation and ensure that you select the same target IMS.
The incorrect entries for the hosts are displayed until the unusable IMS is removed.
After moving all the hosts to the new IMS, you need to move the replication gateways to the same target IMS. Remove the unusable IMS to ensure the setup is clean.
