Configuring the Replication Gateway as a DHCP Server
If you have configured PXE Boot server on a Replication Gateway, then you can use it as a DHCP server and define the IP ranges.
If you want to protect virtual machines without adding vCenter or Hyper-V server, then you must have a DHCP server and a PXE Boot server. The DHCP server can be external or configured on the Replication Gateway, but the PXE Boot server must be configured on the Replication Gateway.
To configure the Replication Gateway as a DHCP Server
Settings (menu bar) > Infrastructure > Details View
In the production data center details view, select Data Mover.
You can also access this page from the Quick Actions menu > Manage Asset Infrastructure.
In the Replication Gateways table, on the row for the gateway that is configured as a PXE server, select the vertical ellipsis > Configure DHCP.
- Select the check box if you want to configure the host as a DHCP server and add IP ranges.
If the check box is not select then the host does not serve as a DHCP server and all the configured IP ranges are deleted.
- Enter the IP ranges.
Click + to add multiple entries. Click X on a row to delete the selected IP range.
Ensure that correct IP ranges are added, else the virtual machines do not boot with PXE server during Resync operation.
- Click OK to submit the changes.
