Configuring PXE on Replication Gateway
Using the Resiliency Platform you can configure PXE Boot server on a Replication Gateway.
Ensure that multiple PXE Boot servers are not configured on the same subnet.
If you want to protect virtual machines without adding vCenter or Hyper-V server, then you must have a DHCP server and a PXE Boot server. Both the DHCP server and the PXE Boot server must be configured on the on-premises Replication Gateway. You need to set the IP ranges that can be assigned by the DHCP server. The gateway having PXE and DHCP server and the gateway which is used for replication need not be the same.
You can configure PXE Boot server in the following manner:
Configure the Replication Gateway used for replication as a PXE Boot server.
Configure another Replication Gateway as a PXE Boot server and then configure this gateway with the gateway that is used for replication.
To configure PXE Boot on Replication Gateway
Settings (menu bar) > Infrastructure > Details View
In the production data center details view, select Data Mover.
You can also access this page from the Quick Actions menu > Manage Asset Infrastructure.
In the Replication Gateways table, on the row for the required gateway, select the vertical ellipsis > Configure PXE.
- In the Configure PXE panel, you can do one of the following:
Configure the selected Replication Gateway as a PXE server.
Configure the selected Replication Gateway with an existing PXE server.
Click OK.
