NetBackup for SAP Oracle backup fails

SAP Oracle database backup might fail if your media server or client runs on NetBackup 8.0 or earlier versions and the Enable insecure communication with NetBackup 8.0 and earlier hosts check box is disabled.

For a successful backup, do one of the following:

  • In the NetBackup Administration Console, under Security Management > Global Security Settings, select the Enable insecure communication with NetBackup 8.0 and earlier hosts check box.

  • Upgrade the media server or client to use NetBackup 8.1 or later versions.
