About Cloud port usage
This is applicable for media server versions 7.7.x to 8.1.2 only.
Table: NetBackup Cloud port shows the port that is used by NetBackup Cloud.
Table: NetBackup Cloud port
Port | Usage |
|---|---|
5637 | The NetBackup Web Management Console ( Open this port between the master server and all the older media servers that are configured for cloud storage. This port is used to provide back-level media server support. This is applicable for media server versions 7.7.x to 8.1.2 only. Ensure that the older media servers use this port. Communication with the master server fails if the older media servers use a different port. |
To enable the service usage on this port, run the following command on the master server:
UNIX:
# /usr/openv/wmc/bin/install/configurePorts -addLegacyCloudService
Windows:
<install_path>\NetBackup\wmc\bin\install\configurePorts -addLegacyCloudService
Even though legacy media servers are supported, it is recommended that you upgrade such cloud storage media servers to NetBackup 8.2 or later versions.
After the media servers are upgraded, port 5637 is no longer used. You can disable the service usage on that port using the following command:
UNIX:
# /usr/openv/wmc/bin/install/configurePorts -removeLegacyCloudService
Windows:
<install_path>\NetBackup\wmc\bin\install\configurePorts -removeLegacyCloudService
This command removes the legacy cloud service connector from NetBackup web server's server.xml file.
Note:
You must restart the NetBackup Web Management Console (nbwmc) service for the changes to take effect.
