Device Monitor and Shared Storage Option

You can use the Device Monitor in the NetBackup Administration Console to obtain information about your Shared Storage Option configuration and manage your shared drives. See the following:

Drive Status pane

The Control and Device Host columns contain shared drive information.

Changing the operating mode for a shared drive

For a shared drive, the Change Mode dialog contains a list of all paths to the selected drive. You can choose any number of paths to which the mode change applies.

Adding or changing a comment for a shared drive

For a shared drive, the Change Drive Comment dialog box contains the following:

  • A list of all paths to the selected drive

  • The current drive comment for each combination.

You can choose any number of paths to which the changes apply.

Performing drive cleaning functions for a shared drive

The three available drive cleaning functions are used with shared drives are as follows:

  • Clean Now

    In the list of hosts that share the drive, you can choose only one host on which the function applies.

  • Reset Mount Time

    In the list of hosts that share the drive, you can choose any number of hosts on which the function applies.

  • Set Cleaning Frequency

    Supported for shared drives.
