NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 9201

Message: The service user cannot switch the context to another user.

Explanation: The user encounters this error when the policy is saved because of the following:

  • If a UNIX master server is configured to use a non-root service account.

  • If logon details are provided for any user other than non-root service account, then this error occurs.

For example, if the service_user is abc, then this error occurs if the logon details provided for root and any other non-root user are pqr.

If the policy was preconfigured, the catalog backup fails with this error.

Recommended Action: Update or remove the logon details from catalog backup policy.
