Stream distribution across multiple backup hosts
No additional options are available to enable multi-host backup of a NAS share. NetBackup automatically determines when to use multiple hosts based on the number of streams specified in the D-NAS policy. Note the following:
If the number of streams specified in the policy is less than 10, NetBackup uses a single host for backup of a NAS share.
If the number of streams specified in the policy is greater than or equal to 10, the backup streams are uniformly distributed across an optimum number of backup hosts. Any host that is ready to start backup streams is included automatically.
To make optimal use of host resources, NetBackup ensures that at least four backup streams are started on each host.
