Table: Prerequisites for protecting the preferred replica in an availability group
Step | Action | Description |
|---|---|---|
Step 1 | On each replica where you want backups to occur, configure the NetBackup services. | See Configuring the NetBackup services for SQL Server backups and restores (legacy SQL Server policies) . |
Step 2 | Configure the mappings for distributed application restores. | For basic and advanced availability groups, map the WSFC (Windows Server Failover Cluster) name to each availability group node. If you have an availability group with an FCI, you must configure additional mappings. Configure these mappings in the Distributed Application Restore Mapping host property on the primary server. See Configuring mappings for restores of a distributed applications, clusters, or virtual machines . |
Step 3 | Review the auto-discovered mappings for the hosts in your environment. | Approve each valid that NetBackup discovers in your environment. Perform this configuration in the properties on the primary server. See Reviewing the auto-discovered mappings in Host Management. |
