Virtual Disk Destination panel

The contents of the Virtual Disk Destination wizard panel depend on the recovery destination, as follows:

  • Original Virtual Machine

    The panel displays Destination details of the original VM.

    You can select the power state of the VM after the restore. You also can refresh Virtual Machine Server details.

  • Alternate Virtual Machine

    The panel displays Destination details of the original VM.

    To select a destination VM:

    a.

    Optionally, select a different Virtual Machine Server.

    b.

    Optionally, enter a term in the Search box to find a VM on the Virtual Machine Server and click Search.

    c.

    Select the destination VM for the restored virtual disks.

    When you select a VM, the wizard populates the Destination details with the details of that VM.

    You can select the power state of the VM after the restore. You also can refresh Virtual Machine Server details.

  • New (Temporary) Virtual Machine

    You must select the destination details.

    See the field descriptions in Table: Virtual disk destination field descriptions.

Field

Description

Virtual Machine Server

The name of the VMware host on which the destination VM resides or should be created.

ESX Server

Restore to a new VM only.

The name of the ESX host to which NetBackup should restore the virtual machine disks. By default, NetBackup uses the value from the backup. To use a different host, click Browse to select or search for a host.

Data Center

Restore to a new VM only.

The data center to which to restore the virtual disks.

Folder

Restore to a new VM only.

The pathname of the VM folder to which NetBackup should restore the virtual machine disks. By default, NetBackup uses the value from the backup. Click Browse to select a different folder.

Virtual Machine

Restore to a new VM only.

The display name of the temporary virtual machine for the restored disk or disks. The wizard populates this field with the name of the original VM client and appends a timestamp to it. The timestamp is the decimal number of seconds since January 1, 1970.

The name must be unique.

Resource Pool/vApp

Restore to a new VM only.

The resource pool or vApp to which NetBackup should restore the virtual machine disks. By default, NetBackup uses the value from the backup.

Power on virtual machine after restore

Restore to the original or to an alternate VM only.

Select to start the virtual machine after the restore completes successfully.

Last update

Restore to the original or to an alternate VM only.

The date and time on which the Virtual Machine Server provided the information for this wizard panel. Click the refresh option to update the Virtual Machine Server details.
