What the Storage Allocation tab shows
The tab shows the following information at each level of the hierarchy:
Table: Storage Allocation levels
Level | Information shown |
|---|---|
Appliance | The allocated capacity and the total capacity of the appliance storage. These totals reflect any filters that you have applied. |
Enclosure | Each storage enclosure, with its allocated capacity and its total capacity. The primary enclosure is labeled as PRIMARY. Expand an enclosure to list the LUNs in it. |
LUN | The LUN ID, the total capacity of the LUN, and how much of that capacity is allocated to volumes. Expand a LUN to list the instance volumes on it. |
Instance volume | Each volume on the LUN, the application instance that owns it, and the size that is allocated to the volume. |
A LUN that has no volumes under it has nothing allocated from it. Flex Appliance can use it the next time you create an instance or resize instance storage, unless the LUN is locked.
The capacity shown against a LUN is the capacity that is allocated to the volumes on that LUN. It is not a measure of how much data has been written into those volumes. To see read and write activity, use the Storage page's tab.
A locked LUN appears on the tab with the other LUNs, and its allocated capacity is shown in the same way, but it cannot receive a new volume until it is unlocked.
An enclosure corresponds to a storage shelf on the appliance.
Note:
A 5150 appliance has a single LUN and storage cannot be added, so the tab shows one LUN.
