Viewing appliance health from the Home page
The Home page of the Flex Appliance Console includes a widget that shows the hardware and services health status of each node on the appliance. Use the widget to check appliance health at a glance, without running hardware-health commands from the Flex Appliance Shell.
The widget shows whether each node is online or offline:
Online - The node is up and reporting data.
See Hardware and services health for the health states shown for an online node.
Offline - A grey minus-circle icon and a No report available message. No health report is available for an offline node.
On a multi-node (HA) appliance, the widget shows the status of each node individually.
For each node that is online, the widget shows one of the following health states:
Healthy
A green check-circle icon and a Healthy message. No hardware or services errors were reported for that node.
Errors or warnings
A red icon and an error count (for example, "3 hardware errors") if the hardware or services health APIs report failed components or error-level services.
A yellow icon indicates warning-level issues only. A node can show both hardware and services issues at the same time.
API error
A red icon and an error count (for example, 1 hardware error) if the hardware health API or the services health API does not respond (for example, it returns an error or times out).
The widget counts the failed API call itself as a single error for that check. Only the node with the failing API is marked, and other nodes are not affected.
Hover over the clock icon on the widget to see the timestamp of the last hardware and services health report, shown in the appliance's server time zone. If a report is older than 15 minutes, the widget flags the health data as out of date.
Click to update the widget with current health data. While the refresh is in progress, the widget is greyed out, and the and options are unavailable until both the hardware and services health APIs respond. The widget then repaints with the updated data.
Click to see more detail about the reported issues. The dialog shows:
A view, which lists only the errors and warnings, and a view of all hardware and services health data.
A tab for each node, if the appliance is configured for high availability (HA).
Note:
The widget and its report do not provide remediation steps. ,
Contact Cohesity Support to resolve reported issues.
The widget, including the action, works with the Observer role.
