Manage Source
From the Sources page, you can start the following actions:
The Sources page also provides an overview of the sources that have already been registered to the Cohesity Cloud Services.
Sources are organized by type and you can search on the source name. To get details and protection statistics about a source, click a source link in the source column of the table.
Manage Existing Sources Using Actions Menu Options
You can manage the registered sources on the Cohesity Cloud Services by performing the following:
-
Protect—Create a Protection Group using this source.
-
Edit—Configure the settings of a registered source. For detailed instructions, see Register or Edit a Hypervisor Source.
-
Unregister—Unregister this source. The Cohesity Dashboard prevents you from unregistering a source that is currently being used by a Protection Group.
-
Refresh—Manually force a refresh of the object hierarchy. The Cohesity Cloud Services tracks all the objects (for example VMs, resource pools, datacenters, folders, and ESXi hosts) found within a source in an object hierarchy. This object hierarchy is automatically refreshed every four hours. If a new object such as a VM is added to the source, the Dashboard does not list the new VM until the object hierarchy is refreshed, either manually or automatically after four hours.
Maintenance Mode
You can now enable maintenance mode for registered sources on Cohesity Cloud Services. If you enable maintenance mode for a source, it will prevent any scheduled or manual activities, including protection runs, restores, and upgrades, from starting. Ongoing backups will be canceled, but ongoing restores will continue without interruptions.
You can only apply the maintenance mode at the level at which you registered it with theCohesity Cloud Services. For example, if you registered a vCenter, the entire vCenter will be put into maintenance mode. You won't be able to place individual ESXi hosts or VMs within that vCenter exclusively into maintenance mode.
To place a registered source in maintenance mode:
-
In DataProtect as a Service, navigate to Sources,
-
From the Action Menu (⋮) of the source, select Maintenance.
