Support for NetBackup MSDP-C and Resiliency Platform Data Mover for configuring resiliency group
You can now protect a virtual machine using Resiliency Platform Data Mover if the same virtual machine is backuped up using NetBackup. Until now, protection of virtual machine using Resiliency Platform Data Mover (in-guest) is not supported using NetBackup MSDP-C Data Mover of AWS or Azure cloud technologies.
From the version 10.1.0.1, if the protected host is added into IMS and backed up using MSDP-C, configuring resiliency group is allowed on the protected host.
Below are some of the cases where you can configure the resiliency group with virtual machine which is protected by NetBackup MSDP-C and Resiliency Platform Data Mover options:
Table: Cases to configure resiliency group with respect to Service objective
Source | Target | Prepared for Replication | NetBackup protected virtual machine | Service Objective | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
VMware | Azure | Yes | Yes | Recover service objective | Configuring resiliency group is allowed with a warning message. |
VMware | AWS | Yes | Yes | Recover service objective | Configuring resiliency group is allowed with a warning message. |
