EMC SRDF configuration prerequisites
Resiliency Platform supports disaster recovery of workloads that are replicated to a recovery data center using EMC SRDF replication technology that is configured using device groups, Storage Groups and composite groups. Resiliency Platform can manage the SRDF replication using one of the two modes:
1. SYMCLI mode:
Device groups and composite groups are objects created on a host with EMC Solutions Enabler (SYMCLI). If you have configured such objects, then you have to configure that SYMCLI host as a discovery host in the Resiliency Platform.
After configuring discovery host in Resiliency Platform, all the replication configuration in the local arrays is discovered. This includes device groups, Storage Groups and composite groups. The same discovery host is also used during disaster recovery and rehearsal operations to issue the appropriate SYMCLI commands.

2. Unisphere API mode
If you have configured all the SRDF replication using Storage Groups only and you do not have any discovery host to configure in Resiliency Platform, then you can configure the Unisphere directly in the Resiliency Platform. This requires admin privileges to manage the SRDF replication. Make sure that the appropriate network port is open for communication from the selected IMS to the Unisphere server.
After you configure the Unisphere in the Resiliency Platform, the SRDF replication configured using Storage Groups will be discovered using Unisphere APIs.

Requirements for Replication configuration
SRDF replication must be pre-configured using either Storage Groups, device groups or composite groups. Replication modes supported are sync and async.
If async mode is configured, then all the devices that are part of a single RDF group should be part of the same device group or Storage Group.
