Troubleshooting : Issues while detaching and attaching data disk
While upgrading Resiliency Platform to version 3.6, you need to initialize upgrade process and then detach the data disk from the exiting virtual appliance and attach it to the newly deployed appliance. While doing this, there can be following issues:
If multiple data disks are attached to the older appliance, then the same data disks should be properly attached to the new appliance, otherwise the appliance will not boot successfully.
If upgrade is started with some data disk and while upgrade if other data disk is attached replacing the original one, then upgrade will fail.
If OS disk is attached instead of data disk, then OS boot will fail.
In case of multi-RM setup, attach data disks to all the RM nodes, power them up. Until all RM nodes are up and healthy, the upgrade will not proceed. It will be stuck at health-check step.
