Configure SMTP Authentication
You can send email notifications to designated recipients when the scheduled reports are generated and alerts are raised in IT Analytics by configuring SMTP authentication.
You can configure SMTP authentication from the Admin tab of the portal. To perform the email configuration for SMTP authentication, go to Admin tab > Advanced > Email Configuration and add details as described in the table below.
Note that SMTP password and Repeat SMTP password fields are displayed only if you set the SMTP authentication type as Basic Authentication.

Field name | Description |

Email SMTP host IP address | IP address of a functional email server that will be used for authentication. |
Email enable Transport Layer Security (TLS) | Enables the SMTP transport layer security (TLS) encryption and authentication protocol. The data channel used to communicate between the client and server will be encrypted. |
SMTP Port | SMTP communication port number. |
SMTP authentication type | Authentication method used by the client to prove its identity. |
SMTP User | User name to be used for authentication on the above-mentioned email server. |
SMTP password | The password associated with the SMTP User name. |
Repeat SMTP Password | Repeat the secret associated with the SMTP User name password supplied above. |
Email from address | Email address to be used for reply back. |
Email from name | The name associated with the email address to be used for reply back. |
Email debug mode | Select to enable Cohesity to address mail transmission issues. |
