Prerequisites for adding Data Collectors (Hitachi Vantara All-Flash and Hybrid Flash Storage)
A 64-bit OS. See the IT Analytics Certified Configurations Guide for the supported operating systems.
When the IT Analytics system collects data from any vendor subsystem, the collection process expects name/value pairs to be in US English and requires the installation to be done by an Administrator with a US English locale. The server's language version can be non-US English.
Supports Amazon Corretto 17. Amazon Corretto is a no-cost, multi-platform, production-ready distribution of the Open Java Development Kit (OpenJDK).
For performance reasons, do not install Data Collectors on the same server as the IT Analytics Portal. However, if you must have both on the same server, verify that the Portal and Data Collector software do not reside in the same directory.
Install only one Data Collector on a server (or OS instance).
On the Data Collector server, add entries to the local hosts file, both resolving to the Portal server IP address.
Example:
172.16.2.2 aptareportal.<yourdomain>.com 172.16.2.3 aptareagent.<yourdomain>.com
Obtain the following required configuration details:
For Array Details Probe and HDT Probe
Host name or IP Address for the Hitachi Ops Center Configuration Manager REST API Server.
User ID (Storage Administrator View Only role) and Password to connect to Configuration Manager via REST API.
To create a User with Storage Administrator (View Only) permissions, follow the below steps.
Step-1: Create a new (use an existing) User Group with Storage Administrator (View Only) role.
Step-2: Assign all the Resource Groups to this User Group that you want APTARE to report on. It is recommended that all the Resource Groups are added so that APTARE is able to get the information.
Step-3: Create a new User with User Group created in Step 1
For HIAA Performance Probe:
Hitachi Infrastructure Analytics Advisor (HIAA) Server address.
Admin User ID and Password to connect to HIAA Server using REST API.
Before adding a new Hitachi Vantara All-Flash and Hybrid Flash Storage policy, ensure that any existing Hitachi Block Storage policies (Hitachi Device Manager based collection) is not collecting data for same arrays. If this scenario is possible:
Disable the existing Hitachi Block Storage policy from > > Collector Administration screen.
Or
Exclude such arrays from Hitachi Block Storage Policy using the Exclude Arrays feature.
Collection for Hitachi Arrays should be done either via Hitachi Block (Hitachi Device Manager based collection) or using Hitachi Vantara All-Flash and Hybrid Flash Storage policy (via Hitachi Ops Center Configuration Manager REST API). Users should not collect same array from both policies, this can result in double counting for licensing.
