Host Load Average
This report displays the chart based on values derived from hosts running only on UNIX operating systems.
This chart displays historical load averages derived from the uptime command. The uptime command displays the current time, how long the system is running, the number of active logged in users, and the host load averages in the past 1, 5, and 15 minutes.
Host load average is the average of the processes in either pre-run or uninterruptible state. A process in pre-run state either already using the CPU or waiting to use it. However, a process in uninterruptible state is awaiting the use of CPU, which means it is waiting for an I/O access, such as waiting for disk. The averages displayed in the report are taken over the three time intervals mentioned before, but are not normalized for the number of CPUs in a system.
This report is a component of the Backup Server Performance Dashboard which helps administrators evaluate the reasons for slowness or bad performance in the backup servers or appliances. Use the Reports tab to examine the catalog of templates, dashboards and reports - organized by products along with user-created, and system folders. This report is located here:Capacity Manager > Storage Performance > Host Load Average.
