NetBackup Deduplication to MSDP Savings - By Policy Type
This report provides a view of deduplication savings for each policy type. You can use this report to detect the policy types failing provide optimal deduplication.
To identify the policy type failing to provide optimal deduplication:
Click the Deduplication Savings % column header to sort it in ascending order. The policies providing with least deduplication savings are filtered at the top under Policy Type.
Click the respective entries in the Total Deduplication Jobs column to drilldown and check the policy type, policy name, and the types of files being protected in the MSDP.
Note:
Since compressed files or files with net new changes, such as Oracle REDO log files are prone to poor deduplication savings, you must use a separate policy and assign a non-MSDP pool to save on their backup costs.
