NetBackup Deduplication to MSDP Savings - By Primary Servers
This report provides a view of deduplication savings for each Primary server. You can use this report to focus on the Primary servers not providing optimal deduplication in your environment.
To identify the primary server failing to provide optimal deduplication:
Click the Deduplication Savings % column header to sort it in ascending order. Along with the least percentage savings, the servers providing least deduplication savings are filtered at the top under Primary Server column.
Click the respective entries in the Total Deduplication Jobs column to drilldown and view the job summary and evaluate the associated policy for poor deduplication savings.
Note:
Since compressed files or files with net new changes, such as Oracle REDO log files are prone to poor deduplication savings, you must use a separate policy and assign a non-MSDP pool to save on their backup costs.

Column name | Description |

Primary Server | The NetBackup Primary server that is initiating backups. Click the link to view the host details. |
Primary IP | Primary IP address of the source. |
Total Deduplication Jobs | Total count of deduplication jobs. |
Total Data Scanned Before Dedupe | Amount of data scanned before applying deduplication. |
CR Sent (Data Sent to MSDP after Dedupe) | Actual amount of data sent to the MSDP after deduplication. |
Deduplication Savings % | The percentage of data saved in percentage due to the deduplication process of the MSDP. |
This report is also a component of NetBackup Deduplication MSDP Savings Dashboard that provides a view of the deduplication savings trend and savings by Primary Server, Policy Type, and Clients at the same place.
