Estimated LUN Usage/Availability
Several Capacity Manager reports display certain LUN values as estimated--Estimated Usage, Estimated Available. These values are estimated because of the following logic for deriving the values:
A volume group has members that are made up of many disks.
These disks may be local disks or LUNs from one or more arrays.
Partitions are created from a volume group and then the partition is mounted onto a host, so that the host can use the mounted partition.
Because of the above sequence, Capacity Manager cannot determine which partition came from which LUN. Therefore, using the available information, the values are estimated.
