Manage Data Collector installation on NetBackup primary server
You may need to manually install the Data Collector if it fails to install during the NetBackup install or upgrade. A failure to install the Data Collector does not cause the entire NetBackup primary server installation or upgrade to fail. The steps shown do not configure the Data Collector to connect with any portal. These steps only install the Data Collector.
To manually install the Data Collector on a Linux primary server:
- Extract the installer from
/usr/openv/ita_dc.tar.gzto a temporary location.The default Data Collector installer archive path is
/usr/openv/ita_dc.tar.gzif you have opted not to install Data Collector while installing NetBackup. - Run:
<temporary_location>/dc_installer -i /usr/openv -n
To manually install the Data Collector on a Windows primary server:
- Locate the installation media kit and navigate to the
x64/ITA_DCfolder. - Run:
silentinstall.cmd /INSTALL_PATH:NetBackup_install_path /INSTALL_TYPE:INSTALL /REMOVE_NON_OEM_DIR:Y
To manually uninstall the Data Collector from a Linux primary server, run:
/usr/openv/analyticscollector/UninstallerData/uninstall_dc.sh -r
To manually uninstall the Data Collector from a Windows primary server:
- In Windows Programs and Features, locate NetBackup IT Analytics Data Collector.
- Select and right-click on NetBackup IT Analytics Data Collector and select Uninstall.
You can also use a uninstall script:
C:\ProgramData\Cohesity\NetBackup IT Analytics\DC\silentuninstall.cmd
