Backing up OpsCenter in case of a disaster
The sequence of steps gives an overview about the steps that need to be followed to back up OpsCenter.
To back up OpsCenter in case of a disaster
- Take a hot backup of the OpsCenter database files using the dbbackup script. This script can be run whenever you need to back up your OpsCenter database, database password file (
db.conf), and database password encryption key file. - Along with the OpsCenter database, the user information that Veritas Product Authentication Service manages must be saved in a directory or by using a NetBackup backup policy.
See Saving the OpsCenter user profiles managed by OpsCenter Authentication Service.
Note:
You can also create schedules for taking regular database and authentication profile backups. In this case, NetBackup policies can be created to back up the specified directories that contain OpsCenter database snapshots and the authentication service user configuration files.
See the NetBackup Administrator's Guide, Volume I for more information on how to configure a policy and schedule.
