Veritas NetBackup™ Deduplication Guide

Saving the MSDP storage server configuration

Veritas recommends that you save the storage server configuration in a file. A storage server configuration file can help with recovery.

To save the storage server configuration

  • On the master server, enter the following command:

UNIX: /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig -getconfig -storage_server sshostname -stype PureDisk -configlist file.txt

Windows: install_path\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\nbdevconfig -getconfig -storage_server sshostname -stype PureDisk -configlist file.txt

For sshostname, use the name of the storage server. For file.txt, use a file name that indicates its purpose.

If you get the file when a storage server is not configured or is down and unavailable, NetBackup creates a template file.
