Controlling data traffic to the cloud when using Cloud Catalyst

Cloud Catalyst offers a throttling configuration option to limit the internet bandwidth that is used for uploading and downloading cloud data. Use this topic to enable throttling.

Note:

By default, throttling is not enabled for NetBackup storage servers.

Change the Scalable Storage media server host properties:

  1. In the NetBackup Administration Console, expand NetBackup Management > Host Properties > Media Servers.
  2. In the details pane, select the media server that is the Cloud Catalyst storage server.
  3. On the Actions menu, select Properties.
  4. Select the Scalable Storage properties.
  5. Set Total available bandwidth to the desired bandwidth limit.
  6. Set the Sampling interval to one or more to enable throttling (zero means that throttling is disabled).
  7. Click Apply and OK to close the dialog.

See About the Cloud Catalyst esfs.json configuration file.
