Configuring a Cloud Catalyst storage server for deduplication to the cloud
The configuration of deduplication to the cloud differs, depending on the type of host that is used for the Cloud Catalyst storage server.
See the following procedure if you use a NetBackup Cloud Catalyst Appliance:
See the following procedure if you use a Linux media server (non-appliance):
See How to configure a Linux media server as a Cloud Catalyst storage server.
Note:
Cloud Catalyst uses cloud connectors during initial configuration. Certificate validation against Certificate Revocation List (CRL) secures the calls that the cloud connectors initiate. After configuration, nbrmms periodically polls Cloud Catalyst storage server and makes a call to the cloud connector to check its state using the cloud connector's CRL.
For more information on Certificate Revocation List (CRL), Review the section Certificate validation against Certificate Revocation List (CRL) in NetBackup Cloud Administrator's Guide.
After initial configuration, Cloud Catalyst uses Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) for securing calls during data transfer to and from the cloud. Review the following section for more information on OCSP:
See Certificate validation using Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP).
