Issues with the CA certificate during installation of the NetBackup client on VMware Cloud (VMC)

Failed to display CA certificate details

To fix this problem, do the following:

  1. Click Cancel to cancel the installation.
  2. Make sure the private DNS name was used to install the master server.
  3. In the hosts file of the master server installed in AWS and of the backup host installed in VMC, add the following:

    • The private IP and private DNS name of the NetBackup master server.

    • The IP and the DNS name of the backup host.

      The hosts file location on Windows:

      C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

      The hosts file location on Linux:

      /etc/hosts

  4. Begin the NetBackup client installation again.
The target NetBackup server cannot be authenticated, or the server name does not match any of the host names that are listed in the server's certificate

To fix this problem, do the following:

  1. Click Cancel to cancel the installation.
  2. Follow the previous steps under "Failed to display CA certificate details."
  3. If the error persists, see the following article:

    Host validation fails when a NetBackup client tries to connect to the master server

  4. Begin the NetBackup client installation again.
