Veritas NetBackup™ Administrator's Guide, Volume I

Disk type storage unit setting

The Disk type storage unit setting identifies the type of storage unit.

A disk storage unit can be one of the following types:

  • AdvancedDisk (NetBackup Data Protection Optimization Option needed)

  • BasicDisk

  • Cloud Storage (NetBackup Data Protection Optimization Option needed)

  • OpenStorage (vendor name) (NetBackup OpenStorage Disk Option needed)

  • PureDisk (NetBackup Data Protection Optimization Option needed)

Note:

The null_stu storage unit type is available only when Veritas Technical Support uses the NullOST plug-in to identify and isolate data transfer bottlenecks. The null_stu storage unit type is used for troubleshooting purposes only. Do not select null_stu as a storage unit type because the data that is written to a null storage unit cannot be restored.
