MEDIA_SERVER option for NetBackup clients

The MEDIA_SERVER entry specifies that the listed computer is a media server only. Computers that are listed as media servers can back up and restore clients, but have limited administrative privileges.

Use the nbgetconfig and the nbsetconfig commands to view, add, or change the option.

For information about these commands, see the NetBackup Commands Reference Guide.

Use the following format:

MEDIA_SERVER = media_server_name

This option should appear only once in the configuration file.

Equivalent Administration Console property

NetBackup Management > Host Properties > Double-click on client > Servers.
