COMPRESS_SUFFIX option for NetBackup clients

The COMPRESS_SUFFIX entry specifies a list of file extensions. During a backup, NetBackup does not compress files with these extensions because the file may already be in a compressed format.

Usage

Description

Where to use

On NetBackup clients.

How to use

Use the nbgetconfig and the nbsetconfig commands to view, add, or change the option.

For information about these commands, see the NetBackup Commands Reference Guide.

Use the following format:

COMPRESS_SUFFIX = .suffix

By default, COMPRESS_SUFFIX is not present in the bp.conf file. This option has a reasonable default. Change only if problems result.

Multiple COMPRESS_SUFFIX entries are allowed.
