MEDIA_REQUEST_DELAY option for NetBackup servers

This option specifies the number of seconds that NetBackup waits for a non-robotic drive to become ready.

How to use

Change the MEDIA_REQUEST_DELAY by using the nbemmcmd command.

For information about these commands, see the NetBackup Commands Reference Guide.

The default is that NetBackup does not wait for non-robotic drives to become ready.

This option should appear only once in the configuration file.

Example

The following command indicates to NetBackup to wait 150 seconds for a non-robotic drive to become ready for use.

nbemmcmd -changesetting -MEDIA_REQUEST_DELAY 150

Equivalent Administration Console property

NetBackup Management > Host Properties > Master Servers > Double-click on server > Media > Media request delay.
