Veritas NetBackup™ for SAP Administrator's Guide

server <server_name>

This parameter specifies the network routable hostname of the NetBackup master server. The server provides most of the administration and control for NetBackup operations. It contains the NetBackup database. The following is an example entry:

server jupiter

If the NetBackup for SAP backint interface finds a $SAP_SERVER environment variable, the $SAP_SERVER (%SAP_SERVER%) environment variable value overrides the server parameter value. If the server parameter is not specified, and there is no environment variable, the server parameter value defaults to the first SERVER value in the bp.conf file or the NetBackup registry.
