About backint -o out_file contents

When the backint command finishes, it writes an output file to the file that the -o out_file option specifies on its command line. The contents of the output text file change depending on the function backint performed.

The following table shows the backint output that is returned from a backup, restore, or inquiry request.

Description

Information returned for a backup

If a backup completes successfully, the output file includes the following:

  • The external backup ID (BID) assigned to the backup by NetBackup for SAP.

  • The files, pipes, directories, or folders that are backed up and their sizes.

If a backup function fails, the output file lists the files or pipes that it could not back up.

Information returned for a restore

If a restore completes successfully, the output file entry includes the following:

  • The BID.

  • The files or pipes restored.

If a restore function fails, the output file lists the files and pipes not found. It also lists the files and pipes that were not successfully restored.

Information returned for an inquiry

If an inquiry completes successfully, the output file entry includes the following:

  • The BID.

  • The files or pipes that are backed up.
