Veritas NetBackup™ Deduplication Guide

Setting the MSDP storage server configuration

You can set the storage server configuration (that is, configure the storage server) by importing the configuration from a file. Setting the configuration can help you with recovery of your environment.

To set the configuration, you must have an edited storage server configuration file.

See About saving the MSDP storage server configuration.

See Saving the MSDP storage server configuration.

See Editing an MSDP storage server configuration file.

Note:

The only time you should use the nbdevconfig command with the -setconfig option is for recovery of the host or the host disk.

To set the storage server configuration

  • On the master server, run the following command:

UNIX: /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig -setconfig -storage_server sshostname -stype PureDisk -configlist file.txt

Windows: install_path\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\nbdevconfig -setconfig -storage_server sshostname -stype PureDisk -configlist file.txt

For sshostname, use the name of the storage server. For file.txt, use the name of the file that contains the configuration.
