Configure the maximum of failed sign-in attempts
You can customize the maximum number of NetBackup failed sign-in attempts. The setting you choose applies only to the NetBackup web UI. To configure this setting from the command line, use nbsetconfig to set the GUI_MAX_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS and GUI_ACCOUNT_LOCKOUT_DURATION options.
To configure the maximum of failed sign-in attempts
- Select Security > User sessions.
- Click User account settings.
- Turn on User account lockout and click Edit.
- Select the number of failed sign-in attempts that you want to allow before an account is locked.
- To unlock a locked account after a period of time, select the number of minutes for Unlock locked accounts after.
- Click Save.
Wait 3-5 minutes for NetBackup to update the environment with the changes. Or, restart the NetBackup web services to apply the changes immediately. For active users, the updates are applied the next time the user signs in.
