Configuring a storage server for a PureDisk Deduplication Pool

Note:

NetBackup supports PureDisk Deduplication Pool storage on NetBackup 5000 series appliances only.

Configure in this context means to configure a PureDisk Storage Pool Authority as a storage server in NetBackup.

See About the NetBackup deduplication destinations.

When you configure a storage server for MSDP, you specify the following:

  • The type of storage.

Select PureDisk Deduplication Pool for the type of disk storage.

  • The credentials for the PureDisk Storage Pool Authority.

  • A media server to use as a backup server and deduplication server. Also, other media servers to use as load balancing servers, if any.

When you configure the storage server, the wizard also lets you configure a disk pool and storage unit also.

To configure a NetBackup storage server for a PureDisk Deduplication Pool by using the wizard

  1. In the NetBackup Administration Console, select either NetBackup Management or Media and Device Management.
  2. In the right pane, click Configure Disk Storage Servers.
