Problems during cloud storage server configuration

The following errors may appear during configuration of a CloudCatalyst storage server.

Error

Reason

An unknown error occurred in the CloudCatalyst subsystem

This is a general configuration error.

Check the following log for more specific information:

/usr/openv/esfs/log/ops/esfs-config.log.*

Contact Veritas Support to determine a corrective action.

An error occurred in ESFS initialization

This error may occur if the esfs_init.sh script is run without all of the required parameters.

Check the following log for more specific information:

/usr/openv/esfs/log/ops/esfs-config.log.*

FUSE not installed

NetBackup installs the Filesystem in Userspace (FUSE) upon installation. If the FUSE version is too old, this message appears.

Contact Veritas Support to determine the correct version of FUSE to install it.

Unsupported ESFS operating system

A CloudCatalyst storage server can be configured on a media server only if the host is running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 or later.

See the NetBackup compatibility lists for support information:

The CloudCatalyst service could not be started

Check that the vxesfsd daemon has sufficient memory to run.

Check the following log for more specific information:

/usr/openv/esfs/log/ops/esfs-config.log. *

An ESFS mount could not be found

This error indicates that something is preventing the NetBackup Extendable Storage File System (ESFS) from starting properly. There may also be a problem with the vxesfsd process.

Check the following log for more specific information:

/usr/openv/esfs/log/ops/esfs-config.log. *

Contact Veritas Support to determine a corrective action.
